Hi! My name is Chelsea Grassmeyer and I teach Kindergarten here at Western Hills! I started my teaching career in 2019 after completing my Master’s degree in Elementary Education. My first year of teaching was a unique one; I had my first baby in February and due to the school closures, we were not able to finish the year in school together. I am looking forward to many more years of teaching Kindergarten as that has always been my dream!
I love teaching Kindergarten because it is most often a child’s first introduction into education. Getting to teach students things they will use their entire life like how to write their name or watching them read their first sight words is so exciting to me. In my classroom, we explore and learn through sensory activities, purposeful play, and through collaboration with peers.
When I’m not at school, I love spending time with my husband and daughter, Vera. I like to be outdoors as much as possible where I enjoy running, hiking, and riding my bike. I also love to cook and read.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions, concerns, needs, or celebrations!
